Fury Warrior Rotation

· 1 boss · 1 min · Pre-raid

Fury is a priority rotation. You don't follow a fixed sequence: each time you can act, you press the highest ability on the list that is ready. Rage is the limit, so the list is mostly about where rage goes.

The pull

Nothing needs casting before the pull, and you start at 0 rage. Use Goblin Sapper Charge straight away (it needs Engineering) and press Bloodrage as soon as the rage won't overflow. If the fight is long enough for two Mighty Rage Potions, two minutes apart, drink the first on the pull too; otherwise keep it for the end.

the first line that can run does, every time you can act · worth: the rotation without that line, on the same simulated fights

The widget lists every line the simulated Fury Warrior plays, in order, with how often its spells are cast and what the line is worth. In words:

  1. Execute when the boss is below 20 %. It deals 600 plus 15 for every rage above its cost, and Improved Execute drops the cost to 10. It spends all your rage, so from 20 % on you press it whenever it's ready. It is worth 6.5 %.
  2. Overpower whenever the boss has just dodged. It can't be dodged and crits 50 % more often with Improved Overpower. The line is worth 6.8 %.
  3. Swap to Battle Stance for it, but only when Overpower is ready and you hold 40 rage or less. Tactical Mastery keeps 25 rage through the swap, so you lose little. Swap straight back to Berserker Stance after. The dance is worth 3.0 % on its own.
  4. Bloodthirst on cooldown. On a single boss it is your biggest special outside Execute, and it is the clock the next lines run on.
  5. Whirlwind when Bloodthirst is more than about a second away. In Forever it hits with both weapons without a talent, so it is a real filler, not just an area spell.
  6. Heroic Strike at 50 rage or more, or during Execute. It replaces your next main-hand swing, and that swing gives no rage. Below 50, keep the rage for Bloodthirst.
  7. Hamstring when Bloodthirst and Whirlwind are both more than about 1.5 seconds away and you have over 20 rage. It is a 10-rage global that can crit, and every crit refreshes Flurry and Deep Wounds. It matters most on long single-boss fights, where the line is worth 2.3 %: about 12.5 a minute on three minutes, against 0.4 on one, where rage runs high enough for Heroic Strike instead. With three bosses, Whirlwind and Cleave leave no gap for it.
  8. Bloodrage below 90 rage and Battle Shout when it drops. Bloodrage is off the global cooldown, and Battle Shout lasts three minutes.

More than one target

Put Whirlwind at the top as soon as two or more bosses are in reach. It hits up to four targets with both weapons, and on a three-minute fight against three bosses it does 17.3 % of your damage against 5.7 % on a single boss. Swap Heroic Strike for Cleave at 20 rage or more, and keep everything else in the same order. Dragonbreath Chili and the sapper hit every target too.

Cooldowns

Save Death Wish, Recklessness, your last potion and Blood Fury (Orc) for the end of the fight. That is when the boss is in Execute range, and Recklessness's 100 % crit lands on Executes, whose crits aren't capped by the attack table the way white swings are. In the sims Death Wish goes out in the last 30 to 40 seconds and Recklessness in the last 20 or so. Blood Fury also goes on the pull when the fight is long enough for it to come back.

On a real boss, start them when the boss reaches about 20 %. If it dies faster than our fixed-length fights, start them a little earlier, so Death Wish's 30 seconds aren't cut short.

What your log should show

Hold your Warcraft Logs report against this table. If your casts per minute are far below these, you're losing globals; if your Overpower count is low, you're missing dodge windows.
