This set is what our gear search kept after trying every item in the pre-raid pool, the drops, crafts, quest rewards, reputation and vendor pieces whose Forever stats are published. Its items average level 62.2. Your two-hander decides most of it, and the rest mixes mail and leather melee pieces with cloth caster ones, because Intellect, spell damage and spell hit all add to your damage.

Pre-raid gear

Under each item are the next best and what the swap costs here. A "level" swap sits inside the simulation's noise, so keep whichever of the two you already have. Outside the weapon most gaps are a few DPS.

Weapon

Every set holds The Unstoppable Force, a 3.6-speed two-handed mace with 2 % crit. Your swings, Stormstrike and both Windfury attacks start from its damage, and for a Dwarf it turns on Mace Specialization's 1 % crit. The next best, Forest Defender's Axe, costs 12.8 DPS on this fight. The item pool lists The Unstoppable Force only as a vendor reward, with no vendor named yet, so check where Forever sells it.

Head and legs

The helm is close: Mask of the Unforgiven here, and the next best, Blue Dragonscale Helm, costs 2.3 DPS. The sets trade between the Black Dragonscale Helm, a Leatherworking craft that binds on equip, and the Mask of the Unforgiven from Stratholme.

On a single boss the legs are the Warsong Gulch faction's mail pair: Outrider's Chain Leggings for the Horde and Sentinel's Chain Leggings for the Alliance, bought with Warsong Outriders or Silverwing Sentinels reputation.

Trinkets

Adaptive Combat Assistant is sold by Pix Xizzix in Stranglethorn Vale and gives 2 % expertise. Talisman of Ascendance comes from a quest. Use it for up to 200 spell damage over 20 seconds, once a minute. Our simulator lets your Windfury attacks and Stormstrike stack it too, and never ends it after six spells, so it is stronger here than in game.

On a single boss that barely matters: swapping the Talisman for the next trinket costs 10.8 DPS.

Caster pieces

Belt of the Archmage (Tailoring, binds on equip), Arcanoweave Cloak (sold by Pix Xizzix) and Mantle of the Timbermaw each pair spell damage and Intellect with hit or crit. That suits an Enhancement Shaman in Forever, whose Intellect becomes attack power. The relic is Totem of the Storm, +33 damage to Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning. Any other Totem costs 2.0 DPS.

Enchants

• Weapon: Crusader.
• Head and legs: the head takes Arcanum of Rapidity and the legs Arcanum of Rapidity.
• Chest: Greater Stats. Wrists: Superior Strength. Hands: Minor Haste.
• Back: Lesser Agility. Feet: Forceful Rugged Armor Kit.
• Neck: Strength (Forever adds necklace enchants).

On one boss the weapon takes Crusader, whose Holy Strength proc is up 41.6 % of the fight.

Consumables

Bring these every raid: Flask of Supreme Power (4.8 %), Elixir of the Mongoose (2.0 %), Major Mana Potion (0.1 %), Demonic Rune (0.1 %), Juju Power (1.6 %) and Greater Arcane Elixir (1.1 %). The flask is your biggest consumable because spell damage reaches Fire Nova, the shocks and Lightning Bolt. The mana pair matters on long fights only: on one minute they are worth almost nothing, since your bar lasts.

Dragonbreath Chili is worth 1.8 % on this fight and 5.2 % against three bosses.

Our simulator adds all of your spell damage to each of its belches, and the item states no such scaling, so treat that number as the high end. Smaller: R.O.I.D.S. (1.4 %), Juju Might (1.0 %), Blessed Sunfruit (0.5 %, Argent Dawn Revered), Mageblood Elixir and Elixir of Fire Power.
