Client data 70245, per-fight optimisation and simulator fixes

The simulator's game data moved two client builds, and every fight was re-optimised after a batch of engine fixes: a spec can move for either reason.

Game data and sim 8 Oct 2026 · 1 boss · 3 min

The game data and our simulator both changed: a move can come from either, so it is not on its own a Blizzard buff or nerf. The notes say what each side changed.

What changed

Simulator 38772d2 → 50beadf

  • GameGame data: the simulator's spell, talent and item tables moved from client 1.60.1.70205 (hotfixes to 5 October) to 1.60.1.70235 and then 1.60.1.70245 (hotfixes to 7 October).Blizzard: WoW Forever beta development notesSimulator data: 70235 with the hotfixes of 6 OctoberSimulator data: 70245 with the hotfixes of 7 October
  • SimThe site's fights were re-optimised fight by fight, each build with its own gear, talents and rotation on each fight.
  • SimHealers get a party focus: each healer spec has a single-target build and a party build that heals a group of five.
  • SimSeven variants that their spec's best build made redundant left the roster (Fury without Recklessness, two-handed Fury, Arms without Recklessness, classic Retribution, dagger Combat, ranged Survival); Survival hunter is now the melee build.
  • SimBear threat corrected: Lacerate and Swipe deal plain damage threat and Primal Bite doubles it. The higher values were Season of Discovery's and unmeasured for Forever.
  • SimEngine fixes: untagged Heroic Strike, Cleave, Maul and Raptor Strike queue on the swing; an empty weapon slot never swings; demons inherit the warlock's hit, crit and a share of its spell power; Aspect of the Beast and Lacerating Strikes work; Totem of Thunder adds its crit; Enhancement no longer dual wields; Dark Sacrifice is Undead only; Wolfshead Helm pays out on Shifting Power.
  • SimThe item database was migrated to the current stat layout, which fixes item armor and the four Lesser Arcanums that read one stat off (they are back in the pool), and Wowhead's Forever item data was refreshed (7 October).Wowhead Forever data refresh
  • SimSimulator updates from upstream: spells use their client range (the Reach talents extend it), a Survival melee rotation, and warlock area spells.Upstream simulator
